Candlewood Suites Minot by IHG

I posted a negative review a few days ago. My apologies as I wanted to stay here but it was full so I ended up in another hotel which was unsatisfactory except for friendly service. I'm unsure why I was asked to review this place and hope this clears up any confusion.

This hotel was ok. Comfortable beds and good shower pressure. The service was very good. The only negative was the water from the bottle fill in the gym did not taste good at all. I'd stay here again.

No pool, no breakfast - which lends itself to travelers without kids. Fairly quiet as a result. Has kitchenettes which are pretty useful. Undergoing a slow remodel, so desk chairs are horrible. Mattress was worn with creaky springs. Neat and clean.

Best stay over the last 3 years. Yes, this hotel is dated in terms of normal wear and tear. However, it is very clean and very quiet. It is undergoing many renovations and I am looking forward to the additional changes. I enjoy the fresh and delicious coffee, free Wi-Fi, free use of laundry, free business center with operating printer with a great location walking distance to the public bus, Walmart and Dollar Tree. I look forward to seeing the professional staff which provides personalized customer service while maintaining your privacy.

Not bad at all. I will say the internet was not the greatest, small tv; staff is super friendly. -edit—the way my card was charged challenged my mental stability! Hard to expense this stay due to them splitting the charges all strange. Not to mention they charged my card like 5 different times for separated out for a 7 night stay

Friendly staff, excellent rooms with everything you need to have a functional kitchen which is amazing for longer stays and travel! The shampoo and conditioner and body wash are excellent. The ice maker feature in the fridge is so handy. This hotel is located in such and excellent spot quick access to Walmart and the mall! I love staying at the candelwood!

Easy to get to & enough parking. Lobby & room were clean and looked good. Nice kitchen. Staff was very friendly and excited about remodeling coming soon. A pool would have been a nice addition.

Having read the reviews, you cannot believe this is same hotel. My ill wife and I stayed here many times in the past three years. Have stayed in many hotels from Rochester to Grand Forks, Fargo to Bismarck and Minot. My wife is fussy about cleanliness. Have even transfered to other rooms in other hotels. At the end, whenever in Minot, she chose Candlewood suites. We chose rooms partially handicapped accessible and only twice could not get one out of fifteen or more stays. Might be new owners, I don't know, but the hotel is now great. New carpets though out, new chairs to replace the worn out ones. Extensive remodeling of rooms going on floor to ceiling. Thankfully only one floor at a time. They will all be wonderful when done. The staff have ALWAYS treated us kindly. My last stay is extended as wife passed shortly after renting and our home made unusable due to accident at the same time. The staff have responded promptly to any request. I got stomach sick one evening, asked the clerk if they had Peptobismo. Not having any the clerk went to a close by store and then gave them to me. Once had fridge quit freezing food. They helped carry our frozen food to put in their office fridge. Our fridge itself was fixed the next morning. From the manager to maintenance they have been a real source of comfort to me. I received hugs when they heard my wife had died. They came around the front desk to hug me or hold my hand and say words of comfort, caring and kindness. When passing through lobby, they still ask how I am, what am I doing. One has even helped me send documents to insurance company electronically more than once. A Godsend for me! I have been here for seven weeks now waiting to get my house fixed. The only thing I have seen from previous reviews is clerks after 11 pm are working laundry and you have to buzz them. I will recommend Candlewood to any one and all my friends.
